Stepping out of your comfort zone

A couple of months ago I had a great opportunity to partake in an online boudoir workshop so that I could grow as a photographer and as a business women. It was an amazing experience and I can already see the progress I’ve made by the systems I’ve put in place and images I’ve taken. It was probably one of the best things I’ve done for my business since I started, it forced me to get out of my comfort zone!

Here is the thing, I grew up pretty conservative and modest and it stays with me today. Having grown up in a faith that instilled some pretty awesome morals, creating sexy and sensual images has been a growing process, not something I was born with. I grew up hearing that dancing and drinking leads to sex, that dressing attractively causes men to wander, and I could never say the words penis or panties out of embarrassment not fear. So when I got that first call to create some boudoir images I knew I wanted to do it, but it didn’t come easy. I had to plan, research, pray about it and work at it.

But this workshop has forced me to look beyond my conservative and modest ways, and embrace a women’s body as God intended it to be seen. Beautiful, curvy, with flaws, big and small, and yes very sexy. It’s been eye opening, literally. Sometimes I embarrass myself when I catch myself staring at women walking down the street admiring their bodies.

I’m pushing forward in busting down the walls of my comfort zone. I’m still working on saying penis and panties (and I’ll probably get some awful hits on my site cause I just put this on here) and I even went to a burlesque show while I was in London. I never, ever, would have done that before…but I want to go again! Honestly, go and check it out, you’ll have so much fun and let me know when you’re going!

Life is meant to be enjoyed and lived out loud. So take a look at what is scaring you, and take steps to conquer it, you’ll love yourself even more for it. I know you’re scared as heck, but do what you’ve been dreaming of doing and step outside of your comfort zone. We’ll do this together!
